Bucks County Community College at its Bristol campus will hold a forum on racial understanding, Thursday October 24 from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Part of an effort to promote understanding in the community “Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Understanding” will feature six panelists;
- Dr. Gloria Kersey-Matusiak, Coordinator of Diversity at Holy Family University
- Joyce Hadley, former officer and board member of the NAACP
- Barbara Simmons, the Peace Center
- Maria Armington, Bucks County Human Relations Council
- Karen Platts, BCCC sociology instructor
- Natalie Kaye, Bucks County Committee on Interracial Harmony

William Pezza, who teaches in the college’s department of social and behavioral science and will be the moderator of the forum said the goal of the forum is to foster an enriching and meaningful dialogue between Bucks students and community members.
“After the Trayvon Martin tragedy, there was a lot of talk about the need for a national conversation on race,” explained Pezza. “This is our effort to have a local conversation.”
