Bristol Township policeย Lt. Guy Sava said the “large amount of blood” discovered Friday morning in the back of a returned U-Haul truck has been traced back to a load of lamb meat transported in the vehicle.

The meat was being transported as part of a festival recently at a local mosque, Sava said.

Bristol Township police were called to the U-Haul Trailer facility at 6250 Route 13 investigating a “large amount of blood” found in the back of a truck returned Friday.

An employee of the truck rental company called police around 11:45 a.m. to report the grisly discovery, police told LevittownNow.
Police are combing through return records in attempt to ย track down the last individual to rent the truck.

Lt. Guy Sava said they suspect the blood is from animal carcases transported in the back of the truck. However, police are investigating all possibilities.
Television news helicopters hovered over the facility after reports of the find came out.
More details are expected Friday afternoon.
