Two people were arrested after they are alleged to have stolen a loaded handgun.
Middletown police arrested Cortney Mauer, 23, of Cobalt Ridge Drive North and Justin Harmon, 25, of Cactus Road, both of Middletown Wednesday on charges of burglary, conspiracy and several related offenses.

According to police, the duo used a rear window to break into a home on Scarlet Oak Road in the Snowball Gate section of Levittown Monday morning. The two used patio furniture to reach the window, authorities said.
Mauer and Harmon are accused of stealing a loaded .40 caliber Beretta handgun, jewelry and a bag filled with change, police said. The total value of the items taken was over $4,000, according to court records.
The Scarlet Oak Road homeowner was able to capture images of the two suspects because he had a home surveillance system, police said.

After the detective on the case emailed surveillance images to the police force, Detective Patrick Nicastro was able to identify Mauer and Harmon because he knew them from previous run-ins.
The couple were arraigned before District Judge Jan Vislosky and sent to jail on 10 percent of $350,000 each.
