The Edgely Fire Company Annual Fire Prevention Day and third annual Wings Eating Contestย has added some spice in advance of the October 11 event.
For the first time, there are three women entered in the all you can eat contest.

Jackie Gumbert, Christine Rice Knoblauch and Stevie Nicole are among the entrants, so far, which also includes reigning two time champ Kenny Bruck.
The contest consists of ย one 12 minute round to see who can eat the most wings. In the case of a tie, there will be one extra ย five minute round.
Contestants with the most wings consumed at the end of tie breaker round will be crowned winner!
There has been plenty of chatter and trash talk exchanged on Facebook so far as we head towards the contest ย on October 11 at “ten house.”

Part of the fire prevention week activities, the wing eating contest is quickly becoming a ย highlight of sorts kicking off a day where 10 house fire fighters will spend the day in ย the community speaking at local schools about fire prevention and then beginning at 6:30 p.m. Edgely Fire Company Fire Prevention Safety Night will kick off.
Fire trucks galore, safety demonstrations ย live music by the ย The Seven Band and last but certainly not least is the fireman’s competition. ย Come one, come all to the open house event at the fire company which offers wall to wall vendors also.
