The Bottom Dollar Food store at the corner of Edgely Road and Mill Creek is opening Thursday and bringing 40 jobs with it.

The roughly 15,000-square-foot store is set to open after a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. Thursday. Former Eagles player Bill Bergey will be on hand to greet customers and sign autographs until 9 a.m.

As part of the opening festivities, the company will donate $500 to the Bristol Borough Community Action Group to provide the organization with food safety handling equipment. A donation of $1,000 will be given to Philabundance, which helps feeding agencies in the region to support hunger relief efforts.

The store has been under construction for the past few months and joins other Lower Bucks County locations in Penndel and Lower Southampton.

Officials from the company held a job fair in August to hire for the store.

In summer, the Bristol Township Zoning Board approved several variances related to sidewalks and store signage being slightly larger than the current ordinance allows.

The store’s normal hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
