Police say Joseph Simcsak, 29, of Levittown, attacked his girlfriend, his niece and hurt a baby as he fled with it down a hallway.
Simcsak’s girlfriend said he “exploded” after she asked him to stay with the children, according to court documents. She told officers he rushed her, punched her and put her in a choke hold.
His niece told police she was punched by Simcsak after she tried to pull him off his girlfriend, court papers say.

The baby was hurt in an incident earlier in the day when he shoved his girlfriend and grabbed the baby. As he ran down the hallway, the baby struck its head on the wall, according to court documents.
Simcsak was charged with two counts of simple assault, harassment, and a single county of reckless endangerment. He was arraigned before District Judge Joanne V. Kline and sent to county jail on 10 percent of $20,000 bail.
