County to Spray for Mosquitoes in Middletown on Friday

A limited adult mosquito control spray will take place Friday in Middletown Township.

County crews will spray East Highland Avenue and Central Avenue at around dusk. The spraying is weather permitting, county officials said.

The chemical Duet will be dispersed using an ultra low volume truck mounted sprayer at a rate of .75 to one ounce per acre. A green Chevrolet truck with the County of Bucks seal on the side will be used.

Since the middle of summer more than 10 mosquitoes tested in the Levittown area have returned positive results for West Nile Virus. Several sprays have taken place throughout the area.
