Former county employee and Tiullytown resident George Fox lost his attempt at regaining his job at the Prothonotary’s office late last week, Fox confirmed Wednesday morning for LevittownNow.
Fox, who worked for seven years as a protection from abuse coordinator at the county, was terminated for what the county called โwillful misconduct,โ stemming from a Sept. 14 incident when he purchased subpoenas from his office and served them. One served on a business in Tullytown, allegedly to obtain surveillance tapes showing a borough councilwoman removing political signs, and a second one on Falls Township police to get a report.

“I received a letter and phone call from my union about the arbitrators ruling telling me I lost the case,” Fox said. “I’m now looking into the possibility of potentially appealing. That decision will be made after further consultation with my attorney.”
The Bucks County District Attorney’s office investigated the issuing of the subpoenas by Fox.
Fox didn’t face criminal charges, but District Attorney David Heckler wrote a letter to Prothonotary Patricia L. Bachtle ย labeling ย the clerkโs actions as โmisconductโ and an โabuseโ of the subpoena system.

Fox won a civil judgement ย against councilwoman Mae Kucher involving the recouping of funds for political signs that were removed by the councilwoman, however, according to Fox his attorney in that case, Larry Otter was at federal court Wednesday dealing with the appeal of that decision byย District Judge Michael J. Burns in May.
