Man, 63, Allegedly Fights with Cops Trying to Cuff Him

A Levittown man being arrested on suspicion of beating his wife scuffled with police officers trying to handcuff him.

John Blasius, 63, of Falls Township, is charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment.

According to police, officers responded Sunday at 10:15 a.m. for a violent domestic dispute at the Pennsbury Woods Apartments on New Falls Road.

When trying to place the 63-year-old into custody, police say he began fighting with officers in an effort to avoid being handcuffed.

Blasius’ wife told officers her husband punched her in the head numerous times, police said. She added that he socked her in the face, nose and strangled her, according to court papers.

The woman had a bloody nose and red marks around her neck, an officer noted in court documents.
