Pennsbury Appoints New Director of Technology

The Pennsbury Board of School Directors appointed Kevin Dorsey to serve as the new Directory of Technology for Pennsbury during the public SchoolBoard meeting held on August 29, 2013. Mr. Dorsey will replace outgoing Director Daniel DiLorenzo, who recently announced his pending retirement from Pennsbury.

Mr. Dorsey joins Pennsbury after serving as the Director of Technology for the Springfield Township School District since February, 2012. Prior to that position, he was Instructional Technology Coordinator for the Delaware County Intermediate Unit from 2010-2012 and also served as an Applied Technology teacher at Valley Forge Middle School in the Tredyffrin/Easttown School District. Earlier, Mr. Dorsey taught computerย  applications and Web design at Hatboro-Horsham High School. As the Director of Technology, Mr. Dorsey will report to Assistant Superintendent, Administration K-12, Dr. Elliott Lewis, and serve as a member of the Superintendentโ€™s Cabinet. The Director of Technology is responsible for the leadership, planning, coordination, communication, evaluation, and monitoring of the Districtโ€™s technology programs, including the student information and business function systems; Pennsylvania assessments, reporting, and compliance systems, including PIMS, PVAAS, Compass, Cognos, and TIMS; network supervision and management; technical support for end users; training program development and implementation; instructional delivery systems; hardware and software acquisitions, training, and maintenance; instructional and management technology planning; budget preparation, management , and control; and supervision of IT department staff.

Mr. Dorsey holds a Masterโ€™s degree in Education/ Instructional Systems from the Pennsylvania State University/Great Valley, and a Bachelorโ€™s degree in Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He also earned a K-12 Principalโ€™s certificate in Administration. Mr. Dorsey has begun work on a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership at Arcadia University
