A thick column of black smoke cut through the sky looking toward New Jersey Sunday afternoon. The smoke was from a massive multi-alarm fire at the Dietz & Watson distribution plant in Delanco, N.J.
Firefighters were called to the large building Sunday afternoon at about 1:30 p.m.

By 7 p.m., hundreds of firefighters and crews from as far away as the Lansdale area and Camden responded to the New Jersey fire. At one point, emergency officials from the Dow Chemical facility in Bristol were dispatched to the fire scene, according to scanner reports.
Residents in Bristol Township and Bensalem reported seeing the smoke. Croydon section residents posted a photo purporting to show ash that fell from the sky.

Fire officials told NBC10 that solar panels on the roof complicated suppression methods.
6abc.com reported the fire consumed a large portion of the 266,000-square-foot building. No serious injuries were reported over the scanner.
