Saturday is a big day for the Bristol Borough Lions Club, as they hold what they hope to be will be an annual tradition like so many other events at Bristol Lions Park.

Their First Annual Flea Market and Craft Show, which will have about 17 vendors manning 20 tables, Melissai Paolini, one of the many Lion members who have put their heart and soul ย into bringing the idea to fruition, said
All monies raised go to support ย the Bristol Lions’ Scholarship fund which seeks to enrich the lives of those living in the borough by providing funding for an array of community needs.
Paolini, Rachel Rearick, and Brian Love ย among a host of volunteers have worked diligently in getting the idea of the ground and happening.

The event scheduled to take place today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m offers free parking and shopping along the scenic Delaware River shoreline.
The Lions organization has a long history of ย raising money in support of community efforts, Paolini said, recently.

Serving the community since ย 1951 Lions members proudly put on an array of events every year at the waterfront park such as the Bristol Lions Summer Concert Series.

“The importance of the Lions Club and its contributions to the community can’t be measured in dollars or cents,” Paolini, the first woman president of the non-profit said.
Making this event ย a success is a win-win, she said, ย the kids at Lions Camp Kirby, one of the many initiatives the Lions support benefits from events like this, benefit from the funds that’ll be raised at the craft show and flea market.

“We’re talking about helping the kids of our community. The kids who will one day be the leaders of and in this community, that’s who I’,m thinking of when we put together events like this” she said.
For over 60 years the Bristol Borough Lions Club has served the community and as part of ย one of the biggest service organizations Lions Club Internationalย ย with over 1.3 million members the mission of the club is to serve and support its member districts.

The committee putting the Lions ย Craft Show and Flea Market together is excited about today hoping the community will come out strong to support the Lions and its community.
