A man accused of hitting three people with his car Tuesday in Tullytown says he was grabbing his young daughter’s blanket at the time of the incident.
According to police, Brian Keiluhn, 25, of Tullytown, struck three people on Main Street, two of whom were working to change a tire.

Two of the victims were taken to area hospitals for treatment, while the third refused care. A male victim suffered a concussion and several other injuries. A female victim is in stable condition with a head injury, police said.
The striking vehicle did not stop after hitting the victims and a witness told investigators it did not even slow down, police said. Witnesses told the police the car appeared to have damage to the right-side mirror.
The day following the crash, police said they located the damaged car on Main Street and began talking to Keiluhn. He told them he did not realize there had been an accident until he got to the Levittown Train Station, according to court papers.

The 25-year-old said he was reaching into the back of the car to grab a blanket for his 4-year-old daughter when he heard a loud noise; it turned to be the pedestrians, police allege.
Keiluhn said he noticed his mirror was missing once he got to the train station and drove back to Main Street to see what happened, according to court papers. Police said he told them he saw nothing.

Keiluhn is charged with three counts of accident involving death or personal injury, failure to stop to render aid and other charges. He was arraigned Wednesday night by District Justice Robert Wagner Jr. and sent to county jail on 10 percent of $20,000 bail.
