A Bristol woman who stabbed a man in the chest and was then found laying in a bed filled with knives is expected to plead guilty in the July stabbing.

During a short ย court appearance Wednesday before District Court Judge Frank Peranteau Sr., Tiffany Bigbee 46, waived charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person, stemming from the knife attack on a 63-year-old man on July 12.

In exchange for the guilty plea and sending the charges to trial the Bucks County District Attorney’s office agreed to drop a second aggravated assault count.

The stabbing, which occurred on the 1000 block of Beaver Street, police say, where the pierced man walked from the apartment where the incident took place to Burger King on Rt 13 court records say.

Some mystery still surrounds the incident in question since police documents did not say whether the victim received any medical treatment, what was the precipitating event to the attack, and the notation in the affidavit of “other evidence” found on Bigbee’s clothing without specifying what that evidence is.

Prosecutor Tom Logan declined to comment on the specifics of the case however, when asked about the potential for a mental health evaluation for Bigbee considering the bizarre finding by borough police of the defendant laying in a bed of knives, he said the criminal justice system provides mental health care where and when it’s needed but declined to elaborate if Bigbee is receiving services of any kind.

Bigbee remains in Bucks County Jail and her next court date is set for September 13 at the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas.
