Over the past few months, the Levittown area has dealt with a bear, coyote sightings – and now comes word of alligator sightings in quiet Langhorne Manor.
Several reports of a 3-foot-long alligator in a pond on the campus of Cairn University were received by campus officials early in August, Safety and Security Director Christopher T. Lloyd said Thursday.

While an alligator has yet to be discovered, Lloyd said campus employees are keeping a closer eye on the large pond at the Christian college, which was formally called Philadelphia Biblical University.
The school closed the pond until last week, as the reptile was sought. No trace, including a declining fish and bird population in the pond, of the reported alligator has yet to be found.
Alligators are not native to Bucks County. However, several have been found outside through the Philadelphia region over the past several years. Nearly all of them were traced back to owners who either let them lose or lost them.
