Man Suspected of Being Drunk Drives Vehicle Off Route 1

A vehicle went into and over the guide rail along Route 1 in Falls Township Thursday night, police said.

The van ended up off the highway, and police, fire and EMS crews were called just after 9:30 p.m. The crash happened on Route 1 in the area of the Stony Hill Road overpass.

Lt. Hank Ward said the driver appeared to be intoxicated and that charges are pending the results of blood tests.

While an ambulance was called to the scene, the driver did not suffer any injuries, Ward said.

The man’s name has not been released pending charges.
