At the Bristol Riverside Theater last Thursday, the talented kids of Bristol Borough got to strut their skills on stage as the Bristol Borough 21st Century Community Learning Center Artrageous program brought the house down during its two performances.ย The bright smiles and colors of the communities children were able to take what was a dark a dreary day outside ย and light the hall with beaming smiles from parents, family and friends in attendance .

The theme for this ย years show was The Six Pillars of Character: trustworthiness, respect, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
Dedicated to the memory of long time respected Artrageous Director Phyllis Slattery, the theme was put into action during theย culminating end-of-camp showcase.
The new Artrageous director, Nekiel Butler, made sure to honor the beloved memory of Slattery, whoย unexpectedly passed in the fall of 2012. Artrageous is managed by Bristol Riversideย Theater and funded by a grant from Bristol Borough 21st Centuryย Community Learning Center and the United Way of Bucks County.

The summer camp attracted 120 kids who participated in activities such as karate, poetry, music, art, dance and poetry.

Tanya Bauman, whose daughter performed in the event, said the program and its goals are a good thing for the community and its kids. “Its better than her sitting home and eating chips all day. She’s active and has something to look forward to and she really enjoys being on stage. They really do an incredible job with the kids, ” Bauman said.
Bristol Borough 21st Century Community Learning Center Project Director, Gayle Evans, was equally amazed by the young entertainers. โWhat an awesome opportunity to witness such incredible talent in this little Borough,โ stated Evans. โThey all deserved a standing ovation.โ Candi Guerrero, grant administer for Bristol Borough 21st Century, โIt is great to see recurrent students performing on stage. Itโs a true testament to great work Bristol Riverside Theater is doing.โ
