Woman Critical After Car Hits Back of Truck in Falls

A woman is in critical condition after her car slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer on Lower Morrisville Road in Falls Township Wednesday evening.

The victim – Nicole Rexrode, 25, of Morrisville – was trapped for 45 minutes in her red car, police said.

Firefighters from Falls, Levitttown No1. and several other companies responded and were able to free the woman so she could be transported by ambulance to Helene Fuld Trauma Center in Trenton.

Lt. Hank Ward said Rexrode struck the back of the tractor-trailer at 6:05 p.m. by the Route 13 off ramp. He added that the tractor-trailer was owned and operated by Atlas Moving Company.

“There were no skid marks prior to impact,” Ward said.

Fire crews had to cut through the dash and roof of the car to get the woman out, according to scanner reports.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
