At a preliminary hearing Wednesday, Falls Township District Judge Jan Vislosky waived charges of carrying a firearm without a license, simple assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct filed against Naayfir Gorham, 19, of Philadelphia, to Bucks County court in Doylestown for trial.
“I went to see my daughter and he pulled a pistol out on me,” the alleged victim in the case testified.

Gorham is accused of pointing a gun at the father of the 16-year-old he was dating.
According to police, the 16-year-old girl was living at the Rock Springs Apartments on West Trenton Road in the Morrisville section of Falls Township with family during summer. Court papers show that her father arrived with his fiance to visit and found his teenage daughter spending time with Gorham. The teen’s parents did not want the two to date, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
The father of the teenage girl told the court that as he approached the 16-year-old, her cousin and Gorham, the Philadelphia man went into his backpack and pulled a gun. Later, he pointed it at the father, who said he asked Gorham to shoot him instead of anybody else.

“If anyone was to have been shot, I’d rather it have been me,” the father said.

When asked why he thought it was a gun, the 16-year-old’s father responded that he had seen “a lot” of guns before in his old neighborhood and added,” You can’t mistake a gun.”
Court papers show that Gorham ran and the father followed him to the back of the apartment complex after the first time the gun was pulled, police said. Gorham is alleged to to have stopped and pointed the gun at the father once again before running away, according to authorities.
Police from multiple agencies responded to the apartment complex after reports of a subject with a gun were called in. Gorham was arrested the following day in Philadelphia.

Authorities noted in court papers that numerous adults and children were alarmed and inconvenienced by the search for the 19-year-old.
Gorham’s public defender, Deborah Weinman, asked Vislosky to drop the gun charges because a weapon has not been recovered by police.

The 19-year-old is free on 10 percent of $25,000 bail. According to court dockets, the bail was reduced from the original amount of $150,000.
