Reports of an armed subject armed with a gun running through the Rock Springs Apartments on West Trenton Road in the Morrisville section of Falls Township came across the police radio at about 4:20 p.m. on Monday. Falls police responded, sorted out the story and took a 19-year-0ld Philadelphia man into custody.
Upon arrival at the apartment complex, officers discovered the parents of a 16-year-old girl living at the complex with family during the summer was found spending time with her boyfriend, Naayfir Gorham. The teen’s parents did not want the two to date, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

The father and mother of the 16-year-old arrived at the apartment complex and got out of their car after the spotted the young lovers on two separate benches, police said. The father began walking toward the two with his hands raised “as if to to ask why they were together,” court papers said.
Gorham then grabbed a brown backpack from the ground and pulled a black semi-automatic handgun, police said, adding that he waved it and then pointed it at the father.
The father, who was about 30 feet away from the gun, then asked the 19-year-old to shoot him, police said. The responding offer put in court papers that the father was “frustrated with the ongoing situation.”

Gorham ran and the father followed him to the back of the apartment complex, police said. Gorham is alleged to to have stopped and pointed the gun at the father once again before running away, according to authorities.
The father then called 9-1-1.

Due to the nature of the incident, police from several different departments responded to the apartment complex and found Gorham.
Police noted that numerous adults and children were alarmed and inconvenienced by the search for the 19-year-old.
