Penndel Fire Company Chief Chuck Fox said the incident happened in the area of Neshaminy Point behind Hillside Avenue when a boy attempting to use a tire swing to jump into the creek missed.
Crews from the fire company launched rescue boats from Cherokee Day Camp on the Bensalem side of the creek. A resident of the Middletown side put his pontoon boat into the water and that was eventually used by crews to take the boy to land, Fox said.
The pontoon boat made it easier for the firefighter and medical personnel to put the boy on a backboard and remove him from the creek, Fox told LevittownNow.com.

The call came to Penndel firefighters at 6:34 p.m. and the chief said they were done by 7:10 p.m.
