Middletown Township Police took a man into custody, who is the owner of four guns, late Tuesday night after he threatened to kill himself and his wife after a physical confrontation, police records say.
The incident began when Keith Boyle, 45, of the Parkland section of Middletown, and his wife argued for most of the night, police say. When Boyle’s wife attempted to “get away” from her husband, he pursued her in to the basement where Boyle shoved and pushed his wife while she was holding a laundry basket, the affidavit of probable cause says.

Boyle then told his wife, “I’ve got a surprise for you, I’m not gonna be around.” To which his wife responded, “Do whatever you have to do?” Boyle responded by telling his wife “I’m taking you with me,” court records say. Officers on the scene asked the victim what her husband mean by that. She told police that she thought he intended to kill himself and her.
Boyle was arraigned in front of District Court Judge Frank W. Peranteau Sr. on charges of simple assault and terroristic threats and sent to Bucks County Jail in lieu of 10 percent of $40,000.
Additionally, Peranteau ordered the man to turn over his weapons to police and have no contact with his wife.

Boyle is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on August 7 in front of District Court Judge Daniel Baranoski.
