Lack of Pot Turns to Violent Attack, Theft of Hat, Cops Say

Two men are charged with conspiracy to robbery, simple assault and disorderly conduct after an alleged attack last Tuesday night in Bristol Township.

Police responded to the area of Edgely Road and Red Cedar Drive at 10:58 p.m. for reports of an assault in progress.

Upon arrival, officers found two men who said they were attack by three men – two later arrested and identified as Denzel Bussie, 20, of Bristol Township and Dwight Williams Jr., 19, of Penndel, police said.

According to court documents, the two men told police they were walking down the road when a teal Chevrolet drove passed and stopped the corner. One of the occupants of the car asked the two men on foot if they had marijuana, and they said no, authorities said.

One of the men in the car accused the one man on street of stealing “stuff” from his house, police said.

One suspect, who has not yet been charged, got out of the teal car and got in the one victim’s face, police said, adding that the man was then punched. Bussie and Williams then began attacking the man who was punched in the face, according to police.

One of the suspects thought the one victim had something in his pocket and had it searched; nothing was found, but the beat down continued, police said, adding that the trio stole a hat from one man.

A woman pulled up and stopped her car, prompting the suspects to flee, police said.

A car stop was conducted and Bussie and Williams were arrest, police said. Authorities did not say why the third suspect was not arrested.
