Dozens of people stood in line Tuesday morning in the Langhorne Square Shopping Center in Middletown waiting for the area’s newest California Tortilla eatery to open.
The first 20 people in line, some of whom camped out starting Monday night, got a card entitling them to free burritos for a year. Many others just got a free lunch of dinner to celebrate the store’s opening.

The store is one of just under 50 on the East Coast and is franchised by Brian and Mindy Flynn of Churchville.
“We love food,” Mindy Flynn said with a wide smile and bright eyes Tuesday as the dining room was filled with customers.
The duo both have fine dining experience and have worked at several large eateries in the area.

“We fell in love with the fact that California Tortilla was so different,” Mindy Flynn said, citing the fact that everything is fresh and the location does not even have a freezer.
The restaurant has patrons order at the counter and then they watch as several employees make their food.

The Flynns said they like that the restaurant has something for everybody and offers it at an affordable price.
The store employees about 20 people, and based on Tuesday’s turnout, may need to hire more, according to the Flynns.
Instead of a traditional ribbon cutting, area officials cut a large burrito.
