A Middletown police official told LevittownNow.com that a two-vehicle crash caused one car to hit a utility police, which caused the blackout that stuck Middletown, Penndel amd Hulmeville.

Police said they were still on scene of the crash at around 11 p.m.

The reports of a power outage came across the emergency radio shortly after a vehicle crashed into a pole in the area Durham Road and Wyoming Avenue at around 10 p.m. It is unconfirmed if the two incidents are related.
According to reports, PECO was requested to the crash scene along with ambulances. Wires were said to be down at the scene.
