On the evening of June 12, 2013, representatives from the Pennsbury Educational Support Professionals Association (PESPA) met face-to-face with Pennsbury School Board Chief Negotiator, Jeffrey Sultanik, in what Mr. Sultanik described as a “productive and well organized” session. State Mediator, John Cairns, was also in attendance during the 90-minute meeting.

“We resolved 13 out of 18 issues related to contract language,” said Mr. Sultanik. “We made progress. The union negotiators indicated that they will have a concrete counter-proposal to present face-to-face at the next bargaining session to cover the remaining language as well as salaries and benefits.” The two parties agreed to meet again on Friday, June 28th at noon. “At this point, the key issues are salaries and concessions on healthcare benefits,” added the Board’s Chief Negotiator.

Several Pennsbury administrators attended the bargaining session with Mr. Sultanik to answer questions if needed. They were Business Administrator Dan Rodgers, Human Resources Director Bettie Ann Rarrick, and Joanne Godzieba, Director of Financial Services. Present at the meeting to represent PESPA were UNISERV representative Brad Gross, PESPA President Gary McClure, and PESPA members Marla Lipkin, Denise Hacker, and Brian Russell.
