Penndel Borough police spotted Sterner driving a silver Geo Metro with a headlight and taillight out. As the patrol officer radioed the vehicle information to dispatchers after stopping the Metro, the 24-year-old jumped and started coming toward the police car, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Despite the officer’s request for Sterner to return to his small car, he kept approaching in an “aggressive manner,” police said. Additional patrol units from surrounding area were called for backup.
Once additional officers arrived, they order Sterner to surrender but he did not, police said.
