UPDATE: Standoff Suspect Charged with Planning to Kill Wife

After a roughly hour-long standoff with police from multiple agencies, a man surrendered to law enforcement in Middletown Township Wednesday night.

According to information from a police source and a emergency radio monitoring service, authorities arrived to a house in the 800 block of Walsh Road in the Langhorne section of the township shortly after 6 p.m. and discovered an armed man in his 60s was barricaded inside a house. Responding patrol units were advised the man may have been armed with a handgun.

By around 7 p.m., the standoff had ended and the suspect turned himself in to police, the source said. Unconfirmed scanner traffic indicated police were beginning to clear the scene around the same time.

No one was injured in the standoff.

The residential street was void of police by 8:30 p.m. and was relatively quiet.

The suspect was expected to be charged overnight.
