Montazami told police that sometime in late April she contacted a customer who was assisted by the defendant, Oliva Sherman, 23, ย with making a cash return, however the customer told the store manager they didn’t make any return which in turn launched an investigation by Deb shop management, police say.
According to court documents, the investigation showed several instances where Sherman made false returns and took the cash for herself. ย Sherman was interviewed by store management where she admitted to making false exchanges for cash about 25 times for a total of $3000.00 from March to May, court documents show.
Sherman provided a written statement and was then turned over to authorities who arrested her on theft and receiving stolen property charges.
