Serious Accident Causes Traffic Troubles

A serious accident reported to be in the 1500 block of East Lincoln Highway in Middletown Township has left several people injured and area roads jammed.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at around 5:30 p.m. on Friday. According to early reports, the crash involved five vehicles. No word on injuries.

Unconfirmed scanner transmissions of a hazmat incident at the scene were also received. However, as of press time, officials remain at the scene and have not issued information on the accident.

The roadway was shut down and traffic was diverted through Levittown’s Highland Park section and several other roadways, causing huge jam ups, according to LevittownNow.com readers.
