Several television news helicopters whizzed over the Oxford Valley Mall and Route 1 after a police pursuit in Middletown Township Thursday afternoon.
Police attempted to pull over a vehicle containing two subjects suspected of taking “several thousand dollars” worth of merchandise from a retail store in the mall just before 2:30 p.m., according to emergency radio reports and a police source.

The suspect’s vehicle was reported to have rammed a police cruiser in the area of Oxford Valley Road and South Bucks Town Road. Falls Township police were seen speeding toward that area.
Bensalem and state police were notified to be on the lookout for the fleeing vehicle, radio reports indicated.
By the time the helicopters reached the area at approximately 3 p.m., police activity was concentrated inside the mall.

Middletown police did not release additional information on the incident or whether the vehicle and suspects has been located as of Thursday evening.
