UPDATE: Cops Arrest Third Suspect in Levittown Trace Kidnap Plot

Two suspects barged their way in to anย apartment at the Levittown Trace complex with one thing in mind; ย $80,000 a man received ย from a life insurance ย policy heย received after his mother’s death, police said Monday.
The nine-hour-long siege of three men, one woman and three female children, all under the age of five, culminated in two Philadelphia men being charged with 21 felonies each on ย kidnapping, robbery, burglary charges ย in ย Bristol Borough District Court by District Judge Frank W. Peranteau today.

The suspects – Daesean Smith, 21 and Dennis Redding, 18, both of Philadelphia – also forced ย the ย Bristol ย man to withdraw $1,500 from a PNC Bank in Bristol Borough, court documents said. A third suspect was being looked for by police as of Monday afternoon, sources said.
A male victim, while in the bank, told a bank employee that he was “being forced to withdraw $80,000,” according to the affidavit of probable cause.

The quick thinking teller allowed the man to withdraw $1,500 and then notified authorities, court records said.
Two of the suspects, armed with handguns, ย were inside one of the complexes apartments, while they stayed in contact with a female hostage.
All the adult captives were stripped naked and duct taped, Lt. Terry Hughes told LevittownNow.com.

Bristol Township police organized ย a team of ย officers and responded to the apartment complex located on 3000 Ford Rd, ย authorities said.
When officers arrived they observed two suspects and ย a foot chase ensued with K-9 units and additional officers pursuing the suspects, according to police.

“[Police] formed a box with the cars and were searching the wooded area between the shopping center and apartments,” said a witness to the morning’s activity. The witness, a Levittown resident, said police from Middletown assisted Bristol Township officers.
A possible third suspect was chased and black SUV found, along with two handguns, and some of the victim’s cell phones on the getaway path the two men used to flee on,ย police said.

Policeย acquiredย surveillanceย footage from a business next to the apartments. The video, according to police, showed two men just before 10 a.m. near a dumpster making entry to the area via a gate system.
Also found were a pair of rolled up brown work gloves ย under a car, and roll of duct tape from inside the victims unit used to cover witnesses’ mouths while stripped naked for nine hours.

Smith and Redding were sent to Bucks County prison in lieu of 10 percent of $1 million bail.
Police have not named the third suspect yet.
