Bristol Township late last week posted its 2013 Road Program project plans to its website and Facebook pages for public viewing.

The much discussed construction to repair 24.5 miles of road throughout the township will begin this Summer, lasting until the Fall, according to the township website.

The work will be broken down in to two contract phases ย between roads in the Levittown and Croydon sections of the Township.
Levittown will have 11 miles and Croydon 13.5 miles of paving work done.
Cost of this yearโs program will be $4,000,000 for design, construction, and inspection of the highways.

At ย March’s township council meeting, Township Manager Bill McCauley said 88 of the 177 miles of roadways needed resurfacing, due to ย years of neglect.
He also highlighted ย the factย work hadn’t been performed on approximately 60 miles of roadways since Bill Levitt did the originalย constructionย work in the 1950’s.

“We’re headed in the right direction,” ย he said, at the last council meeting.
