Christina Leeds, a Amtrak spokesperson, said train #129 headed from New York City from Washington D.C. struck and killed a “trespasser” just north of the Bristol Borough station at approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.

The identity of the victim would be released by Bucks County authorities, Leeds said.

The commuter train was carrying 520 passengers who were subsequently transferred to another train and continued on their evening commute, the spokeswoman told LevittownNow.com.

Investigators remain at the scene as of 8:30 p.m. and were setting up lights to continue the investigation as night fell.

Bristol Borough and Amtrak officials are on the scene of a reported fatal pedestrian accident on the Northeast Regional Corridor line in the area of Garden Street and Jefferson Avenue Wednesday evening.

According to a SEPTA spokesperson, a Amtrak train was involved in an incident with a pedestrian just north of the Bristol Borough train station.

Emergency radio reports of an incident on the tracks came in at around 6:15 p.m.

Authorities confirm that all lines were shut down for a short period of time. As of 7:15 p.m., Amtrak and SEPTA trains were visible using two of the four lines.

Just several hundred yards from the police activity, several little league baseball teams are playing games at Memorial Field.

Tuesday’s death not far away from where 21-year-old Ryan Hoover was killed last month when he was struck by a train.
