What is the Pennsbury LYFT? (Provided by the United Way of Bucks County)

Pennsbury LYFT, a program of the United Way of Bucks County, is a community prevention coalition dedicated to reducing substance abuse and encouraging positive choices among students from Lower Makefield, Yardley, Falls and Tullytown, the municipalities that comprise the Pennsbury School District. Our goal is to help students, primarily in grades 6 – 12, choose not to drink, take drugs, or smoke.
We sponsor school and community awareness events, participate in prescription drug take-back programs, advocate to make alcohol, tobacco and other drugs less accessible to youth, and encourage our youth to give back to the community.
We have an active youth group called ATAG – Awareness Teen Advisory Group – that is now in the midst of creating a social media marketing campaign targeted both toward their peers and adults. In conjunction with PHS video students, they will be working on public service announcements that will play in area movie theaters and on various websites, as well as billboard advertising and much more.

We invite the community – schools, parents, police, government, businesses, religious, civic and scout groups to be a part of our coalition. We meet bi-monthly, usually the 3rd Wednesday of the month at Pennsbury High School West. We welcome students from Pennsbury, Bucks County Technical School, and area private schools to participate in our ATAG group. We meet the 2nd Monday of each month at 7 pm at the United Way offices, 413 Hood Blvd., Fairless Hills.
