A Bristol Township man accused of attacking a roommate was held over for trial at a ย preliminary hearing in district court today.

Jeron Thompson, 27, one of two arrested on March 10 for attacking a roommate with was then described as a “crowbar,” according to authorities, sat quietly while the victim of the alleged attack testified in front of District Court Judge Joanne V. Kline.

The victim, walking with a cane and “gash” to the left side of his head testified Thompson attacked him after an argument on that Sunday evening.
Quietly sobbing, the victim, having difficulty describing the order of events due to being “hit in my head with a crowbar” said because of theย assault, “I spent two weeks at St. Mary Medical Center and now I can’t talk or think right. Now I have to wear a helmet and use a cane.” He testified forย approximatelyย 10 minutes.
Pointing at his head, the victim said, “I have no skull left.”

Arresting officer ย James Tully of ย the Bristol Township Police Department said in his testimony that he observed a man on the ground ย trying to regain his footing with a softball sized swelling on the left side of the head.
Tully went on the further say the defendant told him ” I lit ’em up with my hands,” denying ย use of weapon in the attack.

According to Tully’s ย testimony, the weapon, about 18 inches long, ย was not actually a crow bar but steel rebar bent in such way that it looked like a crowbar, which the officer found tossed aside where the incident took place on ย Mintleaf Road.
Prior to the testimony, Bucks Countyย Assistantย District Attorney Courtney Newman informed the court the complaint against Thompson was amended from the original top count charge of aggravatedย assaultย to aggravatedย assaultย with a deadly weapon. Newman said the upgraded charge fit evidence of the case.
The defendant was held over for trial at Bucks County Court for ย May 10 and was sent back to Bucks County Prison.

Co-defendant in the case, Christine Carey, currently out on bail, had her preliminary hearing rescheduled for later this month.
