Students at Penn Valley Elementary School is Falls Township were treated to a visit by Sgt. Sven Beauchmin and his police dog, Jessie.
The visit was tied in with the book the students recently read, which is about a police officer and their patrol dog.

Beauchmin talked to the students about his job as a police officer as Jessie obediently sat nearby, the students eyes nearly all trained on her.
“My job is a lot of fun, the sergeant said. “Just remember, if you want to be a police officer, you got to stay in school.”
Jessie has been with the protecting the community for a decade and is specially trained to detect explosives.

Beauchmin said told the students that Jessie’s time as a canine police officer is winding down. He told the students Jessie is with him nearly all the time and he will have to adjust to working while his loyal Belgian malinois relaxes at time.
At the end of the visit, the students had the opportunity to spend some time with the well-mannered police dog.
