Democrats Rally In Falls Twp. Ahead Of General Election

Democrats from around Bucks County rallied in Falls Township ahead of the upcoming general election.

Candidates from municipal, school board, county, and state races and supporters gathered at Snipes Farm in Falls Township on Saturday for the event.

U.S. Sen. John Fetterman was the biggest draw at the rally. He posed for photos with supporters and told them to encourage turnout for this year’s election, which is seen as a bellwether for the 2024 presidential race.

Bucks County Commissioner Chairperson Bob Harvie told the crowd their support of Democratic candidates would be essential for election victories.

“Our record is very clear,” he said of the Democratic county ticket.

Harvie, a former Bucks County Technical High School teacher in his first term as a commissioner, stressed that speaking to other voters to get them to turn out was essential.

“We’re fighting,” he said. “We’re going to keep fighting through the next 10 days and we’re going to keep fighting for the next four years.”

Commissioner Diane Ellis-Marseglia, Harvie’s running mate and a longtime office holder, touted the incumbent administration’s record on investing in mental health initiatives in Bucks County.

Judge Daniel McCaffery, who is running for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, pulled up to the rally on his motorcycle, revving up the crowd.

Speaking to supporters, McCaffery told them the make up of the state’s highest court is important to protect their values, citing the U.S. Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Jill Beck and Tamika Lane, the Democratic candidates for Pennsylvania Superior Court, were in attendance. Matt Wolf, the Democratic candidate for Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, was also present.
