Postal Carrier Saves Mail As Truck Burns

A U.S. Postal Service truck burst into flames Saturday afternoon.

The truck caught fire just before 12:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Fernwood Lane in Bristol Township’s Fairless Hills section.

Upon arrival, firefighters from Levittown Fire Company No. 2 found the engine compartment of the postal vehicle ablaze, the fire company said.

Firefighters swiftly extinguished the blaze.

All the mail within the truck was safely removed by the carrier prior to the fire department’s arrival, officials said.
