Bucks County will extend their contract with a Virginia company that has been running four of the county government’s mass vaccination clinics.

The Bucks County Commissioners on Wednesday unanimously approved a contract increase and extension with AMI Expeditionary Healthcare to continue their services from May 1 to July 31 for $12.5 million, which is funded through grants from the federal government. The previous agreement was set to expire at the end of the month.

The company has been running the county-supported mass vaccination clinics at the Bucks County Community College campuses in Bristol Township, Newtown Township, and just outside of Perkasie. They also run the site at the Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem Township.

A mass vaccination clinic in Warwick Township is being run by the Bucks County Health Department.

Audrey Kenny, the interim emergency management director for the county, said the mass clinics at the community college sites need to be closed by the end of July. However, she noted the county will continue to support vaccination clinics and are seeking a new location in Lower Bucks County.

“The clinics have been really well received by the community,” she said.

Kenny also said AMI has been a good partner for the county and has worked with the administration on dealing with any stumbles.

Commissioner Bob Harvie praised the work that county workers and AMI have been doing to get residents vaccinated. He noted that about 46 percent of Bucks Countians have received at least one dose.
