Man Accused Of Indecently Assaulting Two Girls In Levittown Home

A man has been arraigned and jailed on charges he indecently assaulted two girls.

Leonard F. Hewitt Sr., 50, of Bristol Township’s Levittown section, was arrested last week after he was accused of indecently assaulting two girls he knew inside of his home on Openwood Lane in recent years.

According to court papers filed by Bristol Township police, a 10-year-old girl who moved from Levittown to Lawrence County in the western portion of the state recently asserted she was indecently assaulted by Hewitt inside his home. The girl said the indecent assaults happened on multiple occasions, including while she was laying down to rest.

A second girl, who is now 17, said she experienced illicit behavior at the hands of Hewitt when she was 12 or 13 years old and again when she was 15 inside the Openwood Lane home, police said.

Hewitt was arraigned early Thursday morning by an on-call district judge on two counts each of of indecent assault on a person less than 13 years old, unlawful contact with a minor, and corruption of minors. He was sent to the county lockup on 10 percent of $750,000 bail.
