The Bristol Township School District released the following statement:
“This morning, a pickup truck traveling Southbound on Ford Road lost control, struck a utility pole, overturned and struck a District bus traveling to Harry S Truman High School. There were 35 students on the bus. Students remained on the bus until first responders were able to arrive and safely transfer them to another bus where they were transported to school following an initial assessment by first responders. The school nurse and counselors met students upon arrival at school and will remain available to them all day.”

No students were hurt in a serious crash between a school bus and a pickup truck.

The crash happened on Ford Road near the Hilltop Avenue intersection in Bristol Township shortly before 6:50 a.m. on Tuesday.
Police said no one on the bus was hurt, but the driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital.

It was not clear how many students were on the Bristol Township School District bus at the time or what school they were heading to.

To free the driver of the pickup, multiple fire companies were called and had to cut the man from the driver’s seat.
Utility lines were hanging after the pickup flipped onto its side and destroyed a utility pole.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation as of 8:15 a.m.
