Solid Wood Cabinets has shut its doors without much notice.
The cabinet discount retailer, which has a number of locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, including its headquarters on Route 13 in Bristol Township, abruptly shut down last week, according to LevittownNow.com readers.

“The Solid Wood Cabinet Company, LLC. has been forced to close down its business operations immediately and all of its assets will be liquidated by the secured creditor. Customers should seek advice from their credit card or financing provider regarding merchandise that has not yet been received,” a statement from the company said.
In the statement posted online, the company that has operated since 2002 blamed its closure on increasing tariffs and pressure an organization representing domestic cabinet makers has had on the industry. They cited statistics that anti-dumping duties have made it “catastrophic” to obtain cabinets from overseas.
The company said they found an alternative source to supply cabinets but it was too late.

“This was also further impacted by negative customer reviews as we tried to fulfill previously sold orders for product that we could no longer get from the Chinese factories. Although we tried until the last days to reorganize our business affairs and obtain the support of our creditors, vendors and potential new investors we were sadly unable to achieve this objective,” Solid Wood Cabinets said in the statement.
On Tuesday evening, 6abc featured two customers – Bo Ostrowski of Fairless Hills and Jon Falsetti of Hamilton, New Jersey – who had paid thousands of dollars to the company and did not receive their cabinets.

“$6,000 in cash out and I’ve got nothing to show for it,” Ostrowski told the TV station.
Mike Bannon, the director of the Bucks County Department of Consumer Protection, said his agency is looking into several complaints about the business that have come in over the past days.
“We’re still working to wrap our arms around this and take those complaints,” he said.

Customers who paid with a credit card should call the card company and file a claim that the product was not delivered. Those who paid with cash or check can file a complaint with the Bucks County Department of Consumer Protection, Bannon said.
A phone call to Solid Wood Cabinets was not answered. It relayed a message that the company had ceased operations.
