The BBQ joint at the corner of State Road and 3rd Avenue shuttered right before Christmas. It had opened last December.

“We’ve always done catering but running a sit-down restaurant was a whole different beast. Hell of a run though, and I really couldn’t feel more proud of the quality (and quantity) of the food we were putting out on a daily basis, especially the beef brisket and the smoked wings,” Smokerhead BBQ owner Mitch Csanadi said.
The business will return to its focus on catering, specialty events, and on-site vending, Csanadi said, adding the Smokerhead BBQ is likely to show up at nearby Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company a few times in 2020.
Smokerhead BBQ took the location after BrazBQ Restaurant closed their doors after a roughly year-long run. BrazBQ still operates its food truck.

Sit-down BBQ eateries in the Levittown area have faced some troubles in recent years with the closures of Fat Jack’s BBQ in Falls Township, Big Q BBQ in Middletown, and Chuck’s BBQ, which continues to operate their food truck and catering business.
