Big Q BBQ will be closing their Levittown location as of Wednesday.

Owner Drew Abruzzese, who also operates a second Big Q BBQ location out of his Pineville Tavern in Wrightstown, said the eatery that offered fresh BBQ and sides have done “tremendously well in Levittown, but we realized we have simply outgrown this location.”

“We had no idea when we opened that so many of our customers would want to dine-in, and our site has really limited inside seating.” Abruzzese said. He added that he is searching for a new locations to open Big Q BBQ locations in the Philadelphia area.

The restaurant at the corner of Bristol-Oxford Valley and Woodbourne roads opened in July 2015 and was mobbed. Early reviews were mixed but improved after Abruzzese and his team listened to consumer feedback and worked on new specials.

“I was overwhelmed by the tremendous success of the Big Q brand, and we will miss seeing the happy barbecue lovers we have come to know over the past year while operating the Levittown Big Q BBQ location,” said Abruzzese.

Abruzzese and Big Q BBQ gained national attention earlier this year with a sandwich named after former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford.

The future of the Big Q BBQ building has not yet been announced.
