Sesame Place may soon be permitted to sell beer and wine to customers.

A representative on behalfย of SeaWorld Park, which operates the park based in Middletown, spoke before the Board of Supervisors last week.

The liquor license transfer approved by the Supervisors does not automatically grant Sesame Place the liquor license, but instead will need to be submitted as a request to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, who on its own accord will research to determine if the use would be appropriate.

According to representatives, there will be limited areas of the park where alcohol sales would be conducted. Those areas will include two restaurants as well as three private cabanas which will sell beer and wine.

Two beer options and two wine options will be provided to patrons in plastic cups clearly marked and alcohol consumption will be limited to distinct areas, preventing patrons from walking around the park while drinking alcohol. Private cabanas will also be available to be rented by patrons, who will be given wristbands, and a private waitstaff will be in charge of serving alcohol and monitoring the area.

SeaWorld operates several other locations with liquor licenses, however, this will be their first park location in Pennsylvania.
