When the Nicol-Grady family broke ground on their new home in Morrisville Borough in January, there wasn’t much to see.

By last Friday, the Habitat For Humanity of Bucks County-built four-bedroom, two-bathroom, two-story Cape Cod on Woodland Avenue was completed and ready for move in.

Cheers rang out as the family received the keys to the home Tina and Bill will share with their four children and one grandchild.

Tina Nicol-Grady recalled how the family ended up homeless seven years ago a day before they were to settle on a home after her husband lost his job without notice.

“This is just a dream come true,” Tina Grady said. “Thank you, everyone.”

Bill Grady echoed her sentiments and thanked his wife for making the home happen along with the help of many community supporters.

Neighbors on Woodland Avenue arrived with housewarming gifts and flowers.

Florence Kawoczka, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County, extended her thanks to all those who helped build the house and transition the Nicol-Grady family.

The former home that stood on Woodland Avenue was severely damaged by burst pipes.
