The Neshaminy School Board voted Tuesday evening to accept a plan to redistrict elementary-aged students starting next school year.
The board approved plan 9D after some debate and a failed attempt to approve plan 9B. The approved plan will involve about 555 students being redistricted come the new school year.

The decision follows the closure of Oliver Heckman Elementary School in Langhorne and Lower Southampton Elementary School. The schools were closed as part of the district’s cost-saving elementary school consolidation plan.
Board member Stephen Pirritano said plans 9B and 9D were both “well designed.”
