The state provides more details on Gov. Corbett’s ailment:
Abdominal hernias are common. Without medical treatment, hernias can cause pain and discomfort. To avoid these issues, physicians often recommend repairing the hernia. Gov. Corbett’s procedure will be performed with a laparoscope, limiting the incision site and shortening the recovery period of the surgery.
Cawley, a Bishop Egan High School and Temple University graduate was Corbett’s running mate in 2010 and is in his first term. He is married and has one young son.
