Coleman will succeed Superintendent Michael Nitti, who informed the Board in June of his intention to retire at the start of the new year.

โ€œWe are appreciative of Mr. Nittiโ€™s leadership and service to Bristol Township School District, and we wish him the very best in his retirement,โ€ said James Morgan, President of the Bristol Township Board of School Directors.

The Board conducted a comprehensive review and interview process of internal candidates throughout the summer and early fall. Following that process, the Board selected Coleman to lead the district beginning January 1, 2027.

โ€œThe Board has been pleased with the progress made across the district over the past five years, and believes that we have several talented administrators who are prepared to lead the Bristol Township School District,โ€ Morgan said. โ€œAfter completing our vetting process, we were particularly impressed by Mrs. Colemanโ€™s leadership, accomplishments, and commitment to our students and community. We are excited to see her step into the superintendent role.โ€

Coleman joined Bristol Township School District in 2021 as Supervisor of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction and was named Chief Academic Officer in 2023. In her current role, she oversees districtwide instructional strategy, supervises and evaluates principals and curriculum supervisors, and manages instructional budgets and federal program funding.

Under Colemanโ€™s academic leadership, the district has seen sustained gains in student growth, helping move multiple schools out of the stateโ€™s Targeted Support and Improvement (TSI) designation. She has also led the districtโ€™s transition to structured literacy and designed and launched its Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) process.

The districtโ€™s literacy work has received attention beyond Bristol Township, with Coleman presenting at the Improving School Performance Conference and serving as a panelist with the Pennsylvania Literacy Coalition.

โ€œI am humbled, proud, and excited to begin this new role in the district,โ€ Coleman said. โ€œI have loved BTSD since I arrived and look forward to continuing our academic momentum while strengthening our partnership with the community.โ€

Coleman brings more than 12 years of administrative experience in Pennsylvania public schools. Prior to joining Bristol Township, she served as Director of Curriculum and Special Programs at Union City Area School District. Earlier in her career, she served as an Assistant Principal in Erie Public Schools, where she was recognized as the 2017 National Outstanding Assistant Principal of Pennsylvania. She has also secured state, federal, and private grants throughout her career.

Coleman will officially begin her term as Superintendent on January 1, 2027.
